Three ways to keep your vehicle in great condition this summer
June 30 2022,
Summer is here and many people will be taking their car out on the road for a quick weekend road trip, or a long summer vacation to the beach or cottage. That said, the summer heat can play tricks on your vehicle and if you want to make sure that it remains in great condition, the following tips will help.
Keep your engine cool
The most dangerous part of summer for your vehicle is the heat. Specifically, intense heat can cause your engine to overheat if it doesn't have the proper coolant. You will want to have your vehicle inspected and serviced before you head out on the road, especially if it is very hot outside, to make sure that it is in great condition.
Your tires, keep an eye on your tires
Summer tires are just as important as winter tires. Summer tires that are not properly inflated will wear prematurely while also increasing fuel consumption. Tires that are worn are much more susceptible to aquaplaning. In other words, make sure your tires are properly inflated and in good condition.
Protect your paint
You want to keep your vehicle out of the sun as much as possible, but you also want to make sure that rocks and other debris on the road don't damage your vehicle’s paint. To do so, you might want to install a protective film that will deflect rocks off of your paint to provide protection against chips and scratches.
